Barcelona is looking into the potential of bringing Brazilian international Gabriel Barbosa to the club this summer.

Gabriel Barbosa, better known as 'Gabigol,' is being considered by the Blaugrana as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, according to Spanish publication Fichajes.

According to Forbes, the Spanish giants were interested in Borussia Dortmund attacker Erling Haaland. According to Marca, club president Joan Laporta later ruled out the prospect of signing the Norwegian because he was too pricey.

Barca has been eyeing Bayern Munich striker Lewandowski as a replacement for Haaland, according to Spanish site Sport.

According to Marca, the German Bundesliga winners will not trade their top striker at any price, forcing Xavi Hernandez to explore for other options.

Gabigol has been recognised by the Catalan giants as a perfect recruit to improve their attack, according to Fichajes.

After joining Inter Milan from Santos in 2016, the Brazilian attacker made a horrible first impression in Europe.

In 2018, he resurrected his career in his motherland, first on loan with Santos and subsequently with Flamengo. Flamengo signed the 25-year-old on a permanent basis in 2020 after an outstanding loan season.

Barbosa has had an outstanding start to the 2022 season, scoring 14 goals in 20 appearances.

So far with Flamengo, the all-action attacker has a phenomenal record, scoring 98 goals and providing 27 assists in 143 appearances.

According to Fichajes, the Brazilian giants will gladly accept a €30 million offer for their superstar. It may be a wise investment for the Blaugrana, who are in desperate need of a number nine this summer.

Martin Braithwaite appears to be on his way out of Camp Nou this summer, while Luuk de Jong is expected to return to Sevilla following his loan term (According to AS). As a result, Xavi will have no choice but to play Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at number nine.

Barbosa appears to be eager for another chance to thrive in Europe, and Barcelona would be wise to provide him with one.

Xavi Hernandez, the manager of Barcelona, still has a major work ahead of him.

Barcelona brought in club legend Xavi Hernandez in lieu of another legend, Ronald Koeman, midway through the season.

It is also clear that the 42-year-old has performed wonderfully thus far, but he still has a monumental task ahead of him.

Barcelona has suffered for consistency in recent years, and Xavi will be determined to change that in his first full season in command.
